Recently I moved from the USA to India for good. And being a user of Udemy, I wanted to check out some courses in Udemy. I noticed before logging in the prices of the courses was being displayed in INR and when I logged in, the prices changed to USD. So I had to change Country in Udemy. But, how to change the country in udemy?
After little research, I realized that the price is usually displayed based on the currency ( location) the account was created initially. There was no way for the user to change the country for the profile/ account.
So I reached out to the helpdesk to change the country in udemy along with the currency. And as usual, it was taken care of promptly. If you want to change the country and the currency after you move from a country, directly reach out to the helpdesk with the request, and they will take care of it for you. While you are at it, please make sure you are not using a VPN and not pretending to be in someplace you are not. Udemy is smart enough to detect your IP address. In fact, any site can pick up your IP address.

So, You can Change Country in Udemy too, but the easy way to do that is to contact support and let them know about that and make sure you mention that you would like to change the currency.
Why Do I Need To Change Country in Udemy?
Simple, I did not want to lose access to the existing courses in Udemy, so I had to Change the Country in Udemy. And now that my country and currency are updated, I am just adding new courses ( read buying) and adding to my existing library.
How To Change Currency In Udemy?
There are two ways to change the currency to see the currency of the country you are logging in from. One way is, if you do not have much with the previous or original udemy account, you can close that and open a new one locally so that the currency will be displayed correctly.
The second option is to contact Udemy support and ask them to update your location and currency.

This can happen due to some common reasons. First and most common, there is a sale going on for new students, and you are not a new student, so when you log in, you see an increased price.
The other reason could be, there was a two days sale, and now that is over, that is why the price has increased. Try to find a coupon. Often the course creators offer coupons on their website that you can use to get a 90 – 95% discount.

If you have courses in both accounts, you might want to drop a note to the support desk and ask them to merge them. PRovide the main account details which you would like to keep. And if you are planning to create an account locally and pull existing courses from an old account, I would suggest closing the new one and drop a message to the support desk to change your email or change location and currency.
Why Do udemy Prices Change?
My best guess is that when you first checked the price, there was some kind of sale going on and now that has ended. Do not worry, check the course instructor’s name and google, you might find a discount coupon anyway.
